Derekh ("the Service") is operated by Solanthos ("Solanthos," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
Derekh is an AI-powered Bible study companion that uses artificial intelligence to help users explore and understand Scripture. The Service generates responses using the Anthropic API (Claude) based on your questions and selected Bible translation.
Responses provided by Derekh are generated by artificial intelligence and should not be treated as authoritative biblical scholarship, theological doctrine, or professional advice.
Factual assertions in AI-generated responses should not be relied upon without independently checking their accuracy, as they may be false, incomplete, misleading, or not reflective of recent developments. AI-generated content does not represent the views of Derekh or Anthropic. References to third-party sources, scholars, or organizations do not indicate endorsement by or partnership with those parties.
You are responsible for evaluating whether AI-generated content is appropriate for your use before relying on or sharing it.
To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.

The Service operates on a tiered system with usage limits. Paid subscriptions are subject to monthly usage budgets and active conversation limits specific to each tier. We reserve the right to modify tier structures and limits at any time, with notice to subscribers for material changes.
Paid subscription. Access to the Service beyond any free tier or trial requires a paid subscription, billed monthly in advance at the rate shown during signup. The subscription price, billing interval, and usage limits are presented at checkout and become part of your agreement with us upon purchase.
Free trial. New subscribers may receive a free trial of the Service (e.g., 7 days). Your card will not be charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and your payment method will be charged the recurring fee.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew each month on your billing anniversary at the then-current rate, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us (through our payment processor) to charge your saved payment method on each renewal.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the customer billing portal accessible from within the Service. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access to paid features until that date. We do not cancel subscriptions on your behalf except in the circumstances described below.
No refunds. Subscription fees are non-refundable, including for partial months, unused portions of a billing period, or inactive use. We may, at our sole discretion, issue refunds in exceptional cases (for example, a documented service outage that materially prevented use).
Failed payments. If a payment attempt fails (e.g., expired card, insufficient funds), our payment processor will automatically retry over a short window. If all retries fail, your subscription may be marked past-due and, after a further grace period, cancelled. You may restore access by updating your payment method in the billing portal.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices from time to time. We will provide notice of any price change to active subscribers at least thirty (30) days before it takes effect. Your continued subscription after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price; if you do not accept, you may cancel before it takes effect.
Promotional codes and discounts. We may offer promotional codes, coupons, or discounted pricing (including free periods) at our discretion. Promotional terms are specific to each offer and may include redemption caps, expiration dates, and eligibility restrictions. Discounts apply only to the periods specified; subsequent billing periods are at the standard subscription rate unless stated otherwise. We may revoke or modify unredeemed promotions at any time.
Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms and privacy policy. We do not store your full payment card details on our systems; card data is handled by Stripe in accordance with PCI-DSS.
Taxes. Prices shown are exclusive of applicable sales tax, VAT, or similar taxes, which may be added by our payment processor and included on your invoice based on your billing location.
You retain ownership of the questions and prompts you submit to the Service. AI-generated responses are provided for your personal use. The Derekh name, branding, and application code are the property of Solanthos. “Derekh” and “Solanthos” are trademarks of Solanthos.
Bible texts included in the Service are used under their respective licenses. The World English Bible (WEB) is in the public domain. The King James Version (KJV) is in the public domain.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Solanthos shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
